The Point of Hope advisory and review committee will be meeting will all Point of Hope residents on Thursday Feb. 9th beginning at 8:30 a.m. Your attendance in required.

January 2012 Point of Hope Resident Meeting

Our required monthly meeting with Point of Hope residents will take place on Thursday January 12, 2012 in the Point of Hope Community Center conference room. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. Please be on time.

Tuesday - Biblical & Christian Group Counseling @ 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday - AA @ 7:00 p.m.
Thursday - Biblical & Christian Individual Counseling offered by appointment only.
Thursday - NA @ 8:00 p.m.
Friday - AA @ 7:00 p.m.
Saturday - AA @ 7:00 p.m.

All sessions listed above will take place at the Point of Hope Community Center. Residents seeking counseling services from a licensed Christian mental health counselor will be referred to Dr. Kensinger and Dr. Price at Cornerstone Christian Counseling of Louisa.

Our counseling team and review committee will continue to meet with each Point of Hope resident on a monthly basis. Dates and times will be posted at Point of Hope Community Center.

About Our Director: Dr. Setser holds a doctoral degree in Christian Counseling specializing in addictions counseling from Newburgh Theological Seminary of Newburgh, IN. He completed his Masters degree in Christian Counseling from Andersonville Theological Seminary of Camilla, GA. Dr. Setser earned his bachelor and associate degrees in Christian Education from Tripp Bible Institute of Marion, NC. He also holds an associates degree in criminal justice and social work from Ashland Community & Technical College of Ashland, KY. Dr. Setser is professional clinical member and Licensed Clinical Christian Counselor # 16008 with the National Christian Counselors Association of Sarasota, FL.

About Our Program:
Our transitional housing and outpatient therapy program is geared to assist young families and our social, recreational and educational programs are available to anyone in the wider community desiring a healthier lifestyle. The transitional housing program requires that all applicants be a graduate of a residential or outpatient substance abuse treatment program.

Program Overview for Program Participants:
12 Step Study - weekly meeting Self & Personal Development/Pastoral Counseling - weekly meeting (Friday)Nurturing Parenting - weekly meeting (Tuesday) Employment & Job Training - weekly meeting (Wednesday) Resident meeting (Third Thursday)Social Recreational Programs - seasonal and monthly, (example: karaoke, prize bingo, games, and as planned by residents)Self Help 12 Step Groups such as NA & AA also use the Point of Hope facilities. These groups are independent from any program offered by Point of Hope. They meet six evenings a week. Please see schedule below:

Criteria:
1 Open and willing to participate in the Life Skills program.2 Wanting and actively working toward making positive, healthy changes in life.3 Free from drugs or alcohol at least one month & attending AA, NA or other healing program.4 Willing to undergo periodic drug screening tests.5 Married or single with children, 14 yrs of age or under, with housing problems.6 Able to contribute financially toward rent and utilities.7 Willing to live within the guidelines of the program.
