Mission Statement
The Point of Hope Community is a substance abuse recovery program of Father Beiting Appalachian Mission Center and an outreach ministry of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lexington, KY. Point of Hope is a Licensed Alcohol and Other Drug Entity (A.O.D.E.) Outpatient Treatment Center # 810378 with the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Human Services. The Point of Hope Community and Guardian Angels Emergency Housing Facility is under the direction of Dr. Donald R. Setser, Ph.D.

This Sunday, October 6, 2013, is Respect Life Sunday. Come out and support local efforts as our nation joins together with National Life Chain events as well as 40 day events, and other happenings.
Locally, from 2-3 in Louisa KY will be a 'Life Chain' on Madison Avenue by the railroad tracks. Please make plans to come and TAKE A STAND FOR LIFE along with Two Hearts Pregnancy Center and the Pro-Life Community. All are welcome, Two Hearts supplies the signs and you simply stand praying for Life, showing your community this matters to you and to all. This is a Christian community so that road should be packed! Unfortunately, it has not been in the years past. Please spread the word in your churches, community, and everywhere else to let people know of this important hour. We need you all there, please come.
For those of you in other parts of the country just google activities in your area or contact your local pregnancy center and show your support. too many of us are dying! too many of us are suffering! STAND UP FOR LIFE!

Adventure Weekend for Kentucky women cancer survivors at JW
Women who have experienced any type of cancer and who have completed their treatment for at least six months are eligible.
A variety of activities include Elk tour, nature walks, zumba and yoga, archery, boating and healing arts plus good food and fellowship are planned.
The $50 registration includes all lodging, meals and activities; free scholarships are available.

Seeking Outreach Coordinator
Father Beiting Appalachian Mission Center is currently accepting resumes for a full-time Outreach Coordinator. Successful applicants must have an Associate's degree in Social Work or closely related field. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or closely related field is preferred. This is a full-time position at 40 hrs. per week. We would like to congratulate Mrs. Carolyn Goble, our outreach coordinator at the Mission Center and Point of Hope committee member on going back to school (Morehead State University) to earn her Bachelor's degree in Social Work. Congrats Carolyn!! Beginning in January 2014 Mrs. Goble's position will be changing from outreach coordinator to outreach worker and her office will be located at the Point of Hope Center.
