Accepting Applications for Substance Abuse Recovery Program

Point of Hope Community is currently accepting applications for a 3 bedroom mobile home and a 2 bedroom duplex. Point of Hope is a transitional housing community for those recovering from substance abuse. Successful applicants must be a graduate of an accredited/certified substance abuse treatment program. Once accepted into our program residents will attend daily NA and AA groups on campus and will attend weekly Christian Counseling sessions. Resident will work with Director/Counselor to establish individual recovery plan and individual educational plan. Point of Hope resident meeting for July

Point of Hope advisory and review commitee will be meeting will all residents on Thursday July 12 at 8:30 a.m. in the small conference room at PoH Community Center. This is a required meeting!

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School for Martin County students will be held at Roy F. Collier Community Center in Inez beginning on Monday July 9 through Friday July 13. We would like to thank our dedicated volunteers from New York for hosting Father Beiting's Vacation Bible School this year.

Summer Camp 2012

"Something Beautiful for God" - A Girls Camp - Monday June 18 through Friday June 22.

"Camp Crusader" - A Boys Camp - Monday June 25 through Friday June 29.

Come grow closer to God through 4 nights and 3 days of fantastic fun!!

Camp will take place at Padre's Place near Yatesville Lake.

Camps are for children ages 8 through 12.

About Our Director: Dr. Setser holds a doctoral degree in Christian Counseling specializing in addictions counseling from Newburgh Theological Seminary of Newburgh, IN. He completed his Masters degree in Christian Counseling from Andersonville Theological Seminary of Camilla, GA. Dr. Setser earned his bachelor and associate degrees in Christian Education from Tripp Bible Institute of Marion, NC. He also holds an associates degree in criminal justice and social work from Ashland Community & Technical College of Ashland, KY. Dr. Setser is professional clinical member and Licensed Clinical Christian Counselor # 16008 with the National Christian Counselors Association of Sarasota, FL.

About Our Program:
Our transitional housing and outpatient therapy program is geared to assist young families and our social, recreational and educational programs are available to anyone in the wider community desiring a healthier lifestyle. The transitional housing program requires that all applicants be a graduate of a residential or outpatient substance abuse treatment program.

Program Overview for Program Participants:
12 Step Study - weekly meeting Self & Personal Development/Pastoral Counseling - weekly meeting (Friday)Nurturing Parenting - weekly meeting (Tuesday) Employment & Job Training - weekly meeting (Wednesday) Resident meeting (Third Thursday)Social Recreational Programs - seasonal and monthly, (example: karaoke, prize bingo, games, and as planned by residents)Self Help 12 Step Groups such as NA & AA also use the Point of Hope facilities. These groups are independent from any program offered by Point of Hope. They meet six evenings a week. Please see schedule below:

Criteria:
1 Open and willing to participate in the Life Skills program.2 Wanting and actively working toward making positive, healthy changes in life.3 Free from drugs or alcohol at least one month & attending AA, NA or other healing program.4 Willing to undergo periodic drug screening tests.5 Married or single with children, 14 yrs of age or under, with housing problems.6 Able to contribute financially toward rent and utilities.7 Willing to live within the guidelines of the program.
